| Gravimetric control is a common technology used in
extrusion to measure throughput and to keep it constant. With a weighing unit
placed on the inlet of the extruder the amount of material passing through per
unit time is measured by the loss-in-weight principle. A special controller is
responsible for the refilling of the weighing unit and for deriving the
throughput value. Beyond that, control takes care for constant throughput of
the extruder by adjusting screw speed.

derived signals with reference to the processing sequence.
